EPTA Switzerland will celebrate its 40th birthday! We are delighted to be holding the 46th International EPTA Conference in Switzerland to mark this occasion. The conference will take place in Lucerne, in the heart of Switzerland, in the newly built, architecturally fascinating premises of the Lucerne School of Music. The conference will start on Thursday afternoon 29 February and end on Sunday 3 March 2024 after the morning session.
With the theme CHANGES - Visions and Evolutions in Piano Music, we focus on the unceasing developments and innovations in the history and present of piano music and piano pedagogy. Where do revolutions and historical changes occur, which developments and evolutions proceed slowly and silently? How do composers, performers and pedagogues respond to a constantly changing world?
Pianists, educators and musicologists are welcome to submit their proposals for lectures, lecture-recitals, workshops and discussion panels. We look forward to welcome you in Lucerne!

The Conference will take place from Thursday, 29 February 2024 2pm to Sunday 3 March 2024 1pm.
The detailed Conference Program will be published in November 2023.

- Lecturer (170 CHF / early bird 150CHF)
- EPTA member (220 CHF/ early bird 200 CHF)
- Non - EPTA member (320 CHF/ early bird 300 CHF)

- Piano student of HSLUM / Piano professor of HSLUM (free - lunch catering not included)
- Two-day registration Non - EPTA Member Thursday & Friday (250 CHF)
- Two-day registration Non - EPTA Member Saturday & Sunday (250 CHF)
Alle entrance fees include a lunch catering service on Friday and Saturday.
Conference Dinner:
The Conference Dinner will take place in Lucerne on Saturday, March 2nd 2024 (costs: 90 CHF).
A reservation is necessary (see in the registration form).

From Basel Euroairport:
Upon arrival at Basel Euroairport, make sure you take the exit to Switzerland (not to France/Germany).
Take the bus No. 50 to "Basel, Bahnhof SBB". (Basel main train station)
At Basel SBB, take the train to Lucerne.
At Lucerne, take the bus No. 14 towards "Horw centre". Get off at "Kriens Südpol".
From Zurich Airport:
Take the train to Zurich main station. Change the train at Zurich main station to Lucerne.

At Lucerne, take the bus No. 14 towards „Horw centre“. Get off at „Kriens Südpol“.
Due to partial closures of the Gotthard tunnel, especially during the winter months, we do not recommend travelling via Milano.
If you are travelling by car, please note that there are hardly any parking facilities on the conference site.
Most hotels have car parking facilities. Please contact your accomodation for further details on parking.

Accommodation
We do not have a specific conference hotel, as there are many options in Lucerne. There are hotels within a 15-minute walk. Please use common booking apps (reference point: Kriens, HSLU). If you prefer to stay in the centre of Lucerne, there is a direct bus connection from Lucerne main station to the conference venue (bus no. 14, journey time approx. 10 minutes, Südpol stop). The Use of public transportation - inside the city of Lucerne - is free of charge for hotel guests.
